Olympian George Nash MBE becomes a Patron of the Mwezi Foundation

We are delighted that George Nash MBE has become a patron of the Mwezi Foundation. George is an Olympic rowing gold medallist. He won Olympic Gold at Rio 2016, bronze in the men’s pair at London 2012, and numerous World Championship medals.
A Cambridge University engineering graduate, he recognises the importance of a good education and is a perfect patron for the Mwezi Foundation as we seek to transform lives through access to light and the opportunity to study.

George is swapping the river for the road and is in training for the London marathon, which he is running for Mwezi. George says, ‘As an engineer I recognise that the Mwezi Foundation light is a brilliant example of how an innovative, simple design can transform people’s lives not only through its use in schools and homes but also through the employment it generates for those who manufacture and distribute it. I believe in the Mwezi Foundation mission and am very excited to be a part of the team.’ We are even more excited to have him on board. #lightuplives
