OUR PARTNERS
We are very grateful to everyone who has enabled us to give solar lights to so many Kenyan school children already. Thanks to every donation that we have received, we have been able to support over 240 primary schools in the Kwale and Kilifi districts of south-east Kenya. In particular, we would like to thank the following partners who have made our work possible.
Mzuri is a marketing, design and digital agency based in Liphook, Hampshire. The similarities between Mzuri and Mwezi are quite uncanny – the company name, the brand colours and the fact that both companies have roots in Kenya. Mzuri’s creative director and founder lived in Kenya until the age of 16. With such strong connections, Mzuri has been delighted to work with Mwezi on a pro-bono basis since 2019, elevating the Mwezi brand, refreshing the website and creating a range of marketing materials to support the amazing work the charity is doing in Africa.
Bourne Recruitment is a search and selection recruitment company based in the UK but with a focus on Africa.
“Africa is my passion, it’s my vocation and I love it, I’m proud to say. Typically, I’m recruiting for either private-equity-backed companies with investment companies throughout Africa, or large multinational companies with subsidiaries in Africa. I focus on the manufacturing, FMCG, food and agricultural sectors for senior-level positions such as MD’s, COO’s, CFO’s and general managers for locals, expats and also diasporas. I’m absolutely delighted to be helping such an incredibly brilliant organisation.”

FUNDS AND GRANT-MAKING TRUSTS
In addition, we are so grateful to all of the grant-making trusts who have supported us. The donations that we have received have allowed us to reach out to more schools, support more schoolchildren, boost more grades and transform more futures.

Teal Compliance are a team of legal consultants who provide support to law firms on the rules and regulations that they need to follow.
“We asked our whole team to nominate a charity which they’d like to support […] What an important project, run by volunteers to ensure the maximum benefit is passed on. I heard once that maybe the person who can cure the incurable is out there, but maybe they don’t have the means to tell the world. Just imagine that! Harnessing solar power can give such important resources to people across the globe, in turn harnessing their talent for the benefit of their families, country and mankind.”

LittleLeaf Organic is a small family business designing exclusively in organic cotton, certified by GOTS and the Soil Association. All their luxury bedding, pyjamas, towels, baby wear and homewares are made to the very highest organic and ethical standards. LittleLeaf kindly nominated the Mwezi Foundation as its charity in 2023, and donated £1 for every muslin and handkerchief pack they sold.
“We’re delighted to make Mwezi our current charity partner. This fantastic charity does so much on a practical level to help young people in Africa get the education they deserve, and we particularly love the fact that this is achieved using solar-powered lights. LittleLeaf is all about being as sustainable and eco-friendly as possible, and in fact the factory we’re partnered with in India is entirely powered by solar energy.”
